What to you all think of him? Do you think he turns it around and has a decent year or is he prob a bust this year?

I have yet to see him live once this year so don't know how is swing looks or anything. Looking for maybe a little local help. Or any info for that matter.

Thought he might have a great year this year. Was I way off?

I am losing patience with him, and a guy in one of my leagues dropped him today. I have him benched in 1 league and waiting to see if he hits. My advice is to do the same if you have a strong OF.

Baldelli is worse than expected (duh) so far, but his splits last year suggested he might be overvalued coming into this year. He's still very inexperienced (really didn't turn to baseball as his primary sport till senior year in HS, was actually looking to attend college on a volleyball scholarship). Baldelli's ceiling is remarkably high, but I wouldn't be shocked if he posts somewhat mediocre numbers this year, along the lines of .250-.270, 10-15 HR, 20-25 SB. Depending on the depth of your league, that may make him expendable. If it's a keeper league, that's a different story.

gotta say I kind of called this one in the preseason, where are those two Baldelli freaks that chewed me out :-)

Im with you - this guy had huge red flags going off last yr. Completely avoided him this yr.

like most have said, he has a big upside, but he will be proned to struggles for a few reasons. one he is obviously quite young and two he doesn't have good strike zone judgement yet. put those together and you have a streaky hitter that will slump. depending on the size of your league and if he is a starter or bench player it prolly isn't that big of a risk to dump him, especially in shallower leagues. that being said i still like the guy a lot for the future.
