The M's are stretching him out in the minors, wanting to get him up to 80 pitches. Anyone hear that he may be inserted into the rotation when he's activated?

He's starting in the minors just to build up arm strength. As soon as his velocity is back to normal he will be back in his set-up role.

Thanks... I had read that, but wondered if maybe it was a smokescreen. He seems like a Johan Santana-type talent being wasted in too small a role, when he was dominating as a starter in the minors. The M's certainly could use a spark, what with the start they've had.

Raffy said, before the season started, that he prefers his role as a reliever to being a starter...what Seattle have planned for him might be another story.
That would be a dream for me...
