i can't risk starting him. my pitching is suspect enough as it is and Alou and Ramirez are white hot. not to mention the fact that he's facing Zambrano...doesn't look good. of course, if i don't start him, he'll give up 1 run in 8 innings with 11 K's and get the win.

That's two times he's been rocked by the cubs. Unless you have to why take the risk? It's understand it's early, but it takes a few good starts to overcome one really bad one.
I would pick him up and wait a start or two.
But, it's up to you and your risk tolerance (stock broker talk).

i thought he'd only faced the cubs once so far. i thought tonight was #2. he had at least one good start and had great numbers when i picked him up. like a retard, i started him in that game against the cubs and i haven't had an opportunity since (i don't think). am i missing something?

I'm avoiding starting marginal pitchers against the two Chicago clubs right now.

Sorry, I should clarify. He pitched against them once last season and they lit him up. Knowing this I started him the last time around and well, things went the same way.
