neither, Koch will at least be closer by the commitee for a while, and after that won't be good enough to get many saves

Beck has unnamed personal problems and no one knows when he will be back

there has to be someone better out there

Beck, should be back within the month according to an article I just read.

I thought Koch lost his closing job to Marte?

Umm, are there really no better options than these two?

It seems like CWS is going closer by committee. Marte is the best reliever by far, but he's also the best (and only decent, in fact) lefty out of the pen. They'd rather use him in the toughest situations of games, which isn't necessarily the 9th.

Beck will be a great option for holds, providing the Padres can give him some hold situations. So far, they have done a horrible job providing Hoffman with save opportunities, so........
