I got burned by Affeldt his first start; I find it hard to believe Pena's claims that this guy could be a 20-game winner. The thing that kills me about Affeldt is that he is supposed to be a power pitcher but didn't strike anyone out his first game or all spring for that matter.

If he doesn't rebound today I'm likely going to drop him in my two mixed leagues. If he can't produce, I need to move on for the time being. In one of those leagues I have a hole at 3B with Tex down and in the other there are young pitchers off to promising starts (Eric Milton, Matt Riley) who seem like better gambles if Affeldt doesn't show anything today. I'm not ready to give up on him but you can't wait on a guy forever if there is better value available. Plus, if he makes it three bad starts in a row no one else is going to claim him unless it's a very deep league.

Affeldt should pitch like Cy Young today, since this is his first start since I cut him.
Seriously, I still like the guy's upside but I just couldn't wait on him when Matt Riley was sitting on the wire.
