5 man infield is just having 5 players in the infield w/ only 2 in the outfield.
why are they doing this?

having chavez eligible in the OF doesn't really improve his value, unless you have rolen as well and someone like marlon byrd starting in your OF.

cause the winning run was at third and if he scored the game was over, therefore they had more infielders so they couldn't score on a groundball.

Oh man this game is exciting on TV. M's were up bases loaded full count 2 outs... Spezio fouled off a few pitches. Man the adrenaline was coming!
