Mussina..this years Halladay.

Postby Bea Arthur » Tue Apr 20, 2004 1:04 am

Remember how Roy started out last year? Well, if you don't let me remind you. Crappy. Same as Moose this year. Now is the time to trade for him while he's relatively 'cheap'. He should still win 20 games and strikeout 200. And this is coming from an avowed Yankee hater. Anyone willing to part with him is an idiot. Take advantage.

No.. Mussina will have a year like Maddux did last year..

He's lost velocity and location. It might take him a while to get it back.

Velocity Down

Postby BigExpo Bopper » Tue Apr 20, 2004 4:07 am

Yah,
When the velocity is down, all other pitches lose their effectiveness unless you have great control (like a Moyer).

This may be Moose's problem: he knows his fastball is off so he tries to pinpoint his pitches, which everyone knows screws you up.

So do you bench him for now? I'm in a points league with a 15 pt bonus for CGSO, 10 pt for win, 1 pt per K so if I miss a good outing I miss between 30 and 50 points but I'm gonna skip his next start and see how he does.
