Apr 19 Tampa Bay manager Lou Pinella, in an effort to spark the offense, will play Aubrey Huff at third base this week, the St. Petersburg Times reported. If Huff handles third, a position he played in the minors and college but struggled with early in his career with the Devil Rays, it will open a spot at designated hitter for Robert Fick or another productive hitter. Huff played right field last year but was bumped to designated hitter with the arrival of Jose Cruz, Jr. "I've played it before, so it's not like I'm just taking one for the team," Huff said. "I'm pretty comfortable there right now, actually."
Now THAT would really help, he already has 3 games there. By the end of the week he'll have 8-10 appearances. Now he just has to start swinging.
I figured this would happen. The Devilrays other 3b options are awful. The guy can flat out hit. He'll get it going soon.
Bluto: Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL, NO!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
No problem RynMan, I actually just claimed Tex off waivers and I have konerko at 1B too. 3B and 1B are looking very solid I think I may run away from my comp this year. Hope Tex comes back golfing balls in the bandbox.
