Thomas was forced to leave Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays after straining his right hamstring while running the bases in the fifth inning. The designated hitter was replaced in the Sox' lineup by Ross Gload and has been listed as day-to-day.
Chicago White Sox first baseman Frank Thomas had to leave the game on Sunday when he injured his hamstring rounding first base. The team does not expect to know the extent of the injury until sometime on Monday, but Thomas gave his manager a good idea what had happened. "He said he felt something pop in his right leg," manager Ozzie Guillen told the Chicago Tribune.
