I'll tell ya what, we had the same conversations about Benson last year. In fact, I think he threw a complete game shutout early last year and started off 3-0 or something of that nature.
He wasn't the real deal then, so I'd have to assume he is not the real deal now. After all, he must've done something bad for him not to be drafted in most leagues.

Didn't Benson already have Tommy John surgery? Hope McClendon doesn't burn this guys arm out for the 75 wins the Pirates will get this year.

Decent #5/spot starter -- not someone you should be dependant upon
As noted, incredibly inconsistent. I'd take either Wells or Vogelsong over him.

as noted he put up a mirage just like this last year as well. id be weary. he had great stuff when he was younger, but all the arm troubles he's had are cause for concern.
