Is there something wrong with Delgado?

Postby Quaker » Sun Apr 18, 2004 2:46 pm

With Delgado's slow start, I was thinking of going after him for cheap. However, I want to make sure that his slow start is just a slump and not due to an injury. I know his knees aren't what they used to be, but is this an actual problem?

i have seen a couple of toronto games lately, and i cannot say for sure, but i do not think it is injury related. it is just a slow start.

if you can get him on the cheap, i say go for it. he is a proven stud, and should have a fine season.

my understanding is that he has a chronic knee problem -- stuff he plays through, but TOR will DH him ever so often if it flares up.

Good luck getting Delgado for cheap, that's not going to happen.

By cheap I don't mean offering Wily Mo Pena, I just mean something less than he would have gone for before the season started.

if he goes another 8 for 50 with like 17 strikeouts then i will consider trading him away for less value.

Yeah, most people aren't willing to give up players just yet. I would gladly (mostly cause I am a firm A-Rod believer) trade away Renteria for A-Rod right now, but i don't think he'll accept.

he has a knee problem, i minor one, could be effecting his play, although he has had it for a while and played through it. It could be catching up with him, playing on an indoor surface like in the skydome...
