I'm sure you actually mean free agent pool steals? Guys are only on the waiver wire if they have been cut by another team and that period of time only lasts 2-4 days depending on the league settings. Also, guys on the waiver wire cannot just be picked up. They have to go through the waiver process first. Free agents can be immediately picked up.

This is not directed at anyone in particular, but I'm amazed at how many people don't understand the differences in the free agent pool and the waiver wire.
