Don't mean to upset any McGwire fans. In my opinion. YES.
I like Mark. He seems like a nice guy. But perhaps as we prepare to (possibly) tar and feather Barry Bonds we should keep Mark in mind.

Let the discussion begin!

It's known that he used andro, which is a completely legal substance. So what's the point of this post? this is a topic that I thought was buried years ago.

Perhaps you should notice that 11 years went by between those pictures. 11 years is plenty of time to get bigger. Damn I'd be Arnold if I worked out like those guys do. That being said I still think he did steroids but I could care less anyway. All the more power to him. Juice up.

Look at pictures of Andres Galarraga, Julio Franco, etc. They all have similar growth patterns.

And no, I am NOT accusing them of steroid use.

If you think that 11 years have elapsed between September 1998 and April 2004 then you need to start hitting the books to learn those math skills.
"One of the teams represents truth, justice, the American way, and underdogs everywhere. The other represents George Steinbrenner!" - U.S. News and World Reports columnist John Leo on the difference between the Mets and the Yankees.

(and also, when I was reading the article about the ceremony today on si.com I was struck by how much smaller he is today. I thought it was noteworthy. Possibly in some people's opinion... no)

How come he has "shrunk" since he retired? You would expect a little loss of muscle mass because he surely is not working out like he did when he was playing, but typically don't athletes GAIN weight when they retire (and become inactive). Who knows... perhaps he's on Atkins... or South Beach
