Angel Berroa - DL

Postby slomo007 » Sat Apr 17, 2004 6:44 pm

This sucks:

Angel Berroa - SS - KC
Apr. 17 - 6:34 pm et

Royals placed shortstop Angel Berroa on the 15-day disabled list with migraine headaches.
Tests on Berroa came back negative, trainer Nick Swartz said, but the Royals still decided to be extra cautious here. Mendy Lopez and Andres Blanco will fill in for Berroa until Desi Relaford returns. Berroa should be back in early May.

Might be a blessing in disguise. He's been awful so far. Probably related to these migraines. Maybe the two weeks off gets him back in form. It's not like he was helping his owners presently.

Sweet. That make means both my SS eligible players are on the DL. (Thx, Mr. Reyes.)

This is getting crazy. I now have Mauer, LeCroy, Texiera, and Berroa on the DL.

I am VERY glad I got Womack off the WW to back him up BEFORE we got this possible explanation of his sort of weak performance. Too bad I didn't read about that hazard for Berroa in any scouting stuff!! Had any KC fans heard about these before?

Now though, I have to decide whether to try to get another SS (probably Lugo or Khalil Greene...) by dropping Brendan Donnelly (we do use holds...I can't tell what his prognosis is though and also have Worrell, who's doing OK for Philly...?) as I also have Dmitri Young filling up my other DL slot. Hmmm, maybe I should just start another thread about this? Looking at the numbers, I think I will have to dump Donnelly for now...
