Still, that sounds like an extremely optimistic recovery timetable from surgery and rehab.

Players usually come back in about a month from the type of surgey he had, so I never understood why the timetable for his return was so large when it was first reported. I do think it will be closer to 6 weeks than 4, but that is a lot better than the 10-12 weeks that everyone seemed to be saying earlier in the week.

Wilson's knee surgery might have been a little less serious than initially thought, the Denver Post reports. Rather than repair Wilson's meniscus, team doctors removed three cartilage particles that were causing the swelling around Wilson's kneecap. The Rockies will point to June 1 as a goal for Wilson's return, but that's not a hard date.
