Boston MA (Sports Network) - The New York Yankees activated first baseman Travis Lee from the disabled list prior to Saturday's game against the Boston Red Sox and placed pitcher Felix Heredia on the disabled list.
Lee, 28, has not played a regular-season game for the Yankees after signing with the club in early March. He has been sidelined with a tender left shoulder.
Lee hit .275 with 19 home runs and 70 RBI with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays last season before signing as insurance in case Jason Giambi goes down.
Heredia was placed the disabled list, retroactive to April 10, with a bruise, which is located on the tip of his left index finger, his pitching hand.
In three appearances this season, he has surrendered six runs in three innings of work.
