Is it something interesting or just frustration. Because if its frustration I don't want you to get worked up. But If it could help then why not get started.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. -Crash Davis

Stewie : [watching a baseball game] Why does that man drop his club before he runs? I would bring it with me!

A good K rate and good WHIP are generally good indicators for the future. I'm not thrilled by the outing by any stretch of the imagination but I'd be a lot more concerned if he went out there and walked everybody.

Santana is flat right now. So what?

MAJOR NEWS FLASH!!!!

The reason he is flat is that it's the start of the season. Pitchers often start out cold. Moreover, he is coming off minor elbow surgery.

So chill out people. Santana will be fine.

I saw the game on TV today also and I thought he looked good at times but ran out of gas. His fastball was usually around 92-93. He was up in the zone, but the ump was calling high strikes. He made KC's lefty, Aaron Guiel, look foolish. He did get rocked for 3 homers, which was unfortunate, as was the two runs that scored after he left the game. With a 7-2 lead, I thought he'd get that first W, but KC has a pretty good offense and Beltran's 3-run shot off a reliever gave Santana the no-decision.

Overall, though, Santana looks like he has good stuff and I'm not too worried about him, despite the poor start. I have Jeremy Affeldt on my staff, now there's somone to worry about...
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'
