I never thought of that, because Infinity made sense, so I never thought it could mean something else.

I thought it meant infinite/infinity as well. I guess the all caps makes a little more sense now....ahhh...an acronym....thanks bitterdodgerfan for shedding some light.

hmm...no...I don't like peanuts. Inning Not Finished seemed logical initially. Mostly, it was the matter-of-fact way bitterdodgerfan replied. Since I didn't know definitively, and he seemed sure, I decided to believe him...my "Web analysis" included nothing from this forum. I used search engines to dig up some info, and in each case I found INF was paired with infinity. In no case did I see it coupled with Inning Not Finished. So for this research I get insulted. Very well...I'm not used to it, but I can deal with witless humor.

INF era is Infinity.

Inning Not Finished is crazy. Era stats update every time an out is recorded so it makes no difference if the inning is finished or not.
