THE CURSE?!

Postby frog99 » Fri Apr 16, 2004 5:29 pm

A lot of bad stuff has happend to the Red Sox. Most of it was thier own doing (A stupid front office move lead to it, ie trading Ruth or Hiring of Grady Little). So the National Media is hypeing Dan Shanuassy's curse agian, with the SOX/yankee series about to start. I just wanted to see if real BaseBall fans believe in it.

I don't believe in the curse of the Red Sox, it's simply that they don't have as much dough to throw at their team.

The EA Sports curse, on the other hand...

there is no curse. boston tries waaay to hard to win and the players press too hard, get tight and lose.

Look I live in Boston, as diehard a fan as you can get and there is no curse. Some unbelievably hard to believe things have happened but I actually think Matmat has it dead on, when the players get so close they start to try to press too much to make sure it happens. I think every player in a Sox uniform knows that they will go down in history and be remembered forever if they are part of the team that wins the World Series and they just try too hard when it comes down to it. Besides did any of you know that Babe Ruth actually loved Boston even after he was traded? Check the history books he actually left the Yankees and came back to Boston and played for the Boston Braves at the end of his career. However there is a lot more validity and believability to the Babe Ruth curse than one of a billy goat...an F'n goat? You have to be kidding me.

The Curse

Postby Ry-Guy » Sat Apr 17, 2004 3:24 pm

I'll believe there is no curse when I see the Red Sox or the Cubs raise a World Series trophy in the air; until then.......
