Heads up Big Tex owners!

Postby CubsFan7724 » Fri Apr 16, 2004 9:13 am

Seems the Fort Worth Star-Telegram has some bad news for anyone who owns him
The Rangers headed to Seattle on Thursday night making plans to place first baseman Mark Teixeira on the disabled list with a pulled oblique muscle in his left rib cage. Teixeira sat for the third straight day, and the Rangers are starting to doubt that he will be back soon.

Not good at all. It used to be considered day to day :~( .

fanfargingtastic. just as santana and guardado get healthy.

that brings the count to...

reyes
schmidt
dmitri young
and now, teixeira.

i actually traded away jason giambi for teixeira and guardado BECAUSE i thought giambi was a much bigger injury risk. unbelievable. unBELIEVABLE.

You can take Schmidt off that list, I believe he is starting today. Well at least you have all those dl spots. Yahoo gives only one, and thats firmly occupied by Nomar for right now.

:~(

they're not DL slots, my man. i have one DL slot (for reyes) and the rest are riding the pine. so much for my strategy of rotating pitchers. :-[

this season has begun on an abysmal note.

Dad gummit! My Rangers are 5-5 (whoo-hooo!) and now we lose Tex's bat to the DL. Grumble.....grumble.....grumble...... We need all the bats we can get since our pitching is, um, uh, well, not the greatest. Lol. :-D

Guess I need to pick up another 3B for a week or two. :-/

Well I do feel good that I was able to find Choi on the waiver wire as a replacement this morning. 18 team league and he was still sitting there so that was something.

I'm in a 10 team league with Reyes filling my only DL spot.
Is Hafner a viable replacement for Tex?

Season long?

This sucks. :-/ Well I have the choice of Burroughs, Castilla or Mueller. Any opinions?

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
