My team is middle of the pack in a 14 team league. Any ideas of trades I should be looking to go for. Do I need to drop ayala (i think the vultures in my league would grab him).
If available I would consider picking up the following: Jermaine Dye (OF), (he had a great spring and is off to a tremendous start) keeping erstad as a back-up to Mike Sweeney, (who will probably miss games), Carl Crawford (OF) Brett Myers, (SP), iffy, but see what you think of him, Danny Kolb (RP Mil). I would avoid both Marte and Koch, because I have been seriously burned by both of those guys in the past. You've got some studs, but I think you could make some moves with the waiver wire.
Kolb's stats from the second half of last year were good, and he's started off strong this year. I think he's as good as any other reliever you're liable to get off the WW. (unless Jorge Julio is available)
dye was drafted and so were all the guys mentioned. this is a 14 team mixed league. the guys i'm playing with all know their stuff and pay attention to all the sites, like rotoworld, rototimes, espn, etc.
Honest impression is that this is not a team that can contend in a 14 team league. I think there are enough holes to indicate you'll need to make several moves. The OF isn't much, the bullpen is thin and shaky. The guy I'd shop is Glaus. You'll be able to slide A-Rod into that spot shortly, and Reyes fills at SS when he returns. 3B is a very thin position this year, and Glaus is therefore highly desired. You should be able to snare a decent OF and a sturdy closer in return.

that's one direction I have to think about going, but I have to wait for Reyes to come back
