Yet another game without a Gagne save opp.?

Postby NZF » Fri Apr 16, 2004 12:37 am

I know it is early days but once again we can see that drafting a closer early is just not worth the risk.

After last season Gagne probably deserved to be a 2nd / 3rd round draft choice but as we have seen already this season luck plays such a big part in a closer getting a save. Even one as automatic as Gagne is.

Here comes Gagne's save opp.

You spoke too soon. For shame.

And yes, luck plays a big part in save opps but over the course of 162 games that will even out.

It was a question rather than a statement but yes Eric will get a save opportunity today.

Could this be the day the streak is broken.

I predicted the Tejada homer in the 11th but then the wheels fell off. I won't be as bold to predict Gagne blowing it today.

And 162 games is no way enough games for luck to even out. There will still be large disparities.
