Start to RP Ratio

Postby gilesfan22 » Fri Apr 16, 2004 12:26 am

Greetings,

In my league you have 7 slots for pitchers, it can be all SP, or all RP or both. It's a h2h league, the scoring is -

BBI (-0.5) - CG (5) - ER(-1) - HA(-0.5) - INN(2) - K(1) - S(10) - W(10)

I have gotten beaten the past 2 weeks by a total of 20 points combined because the people I've faced both ran 6 starters and 1 closer, while I've been keeping 4 starters and 3 closers.

Should I start more SP? Maybe at a 5:2 ratio as opposed to 4:3? Given the scoring system, which would be more productive?

More or less depends on the quality of the starters you have.

okay i have 2 teams, here are my pitchers for both

team A) SP - Bartolo Colon, Esteban Loaiza, Johan Santana, Paul Wilson, Jon Garland, David Wells...RP - Matt Mantei, Danny Kolb, Troy Percival......I've been starting Colon, Loaiza, Santana, and either Garland Wilson or Wells, as well as my 3 closers.

team B) SP - Mark Mulder, Jake Peavy, Kip Wells, Paul Wilson, Joel Pineiro, Vicente Padilla....RP - Francisco Cordero, Troy Percival, Arthur Rhodes, Eddie Guardado...and I've been starting Mulder, Peavy, Wells and Padilla as well as Cordero, Percival and Rhodes.

Anyone have any suggestions...please? I really need to win!

thats a good point but when 4 of the 8 cats include CG, IP, W, and K's you gotta lean towards SP a little bit
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
