Last Keeper

hey guys, regular 5x5. long term keeper league. we keep five. my first four are locks(Trout, Jose Ramirez, Goldschmidt, Blackmon). the 5th WAS a lock, too, but then Kershaw is a mystery.

my options are
Kershaw
Haniger
Ohtani
Paxton

probably in that order. the draft is tomorrow, so i need to make a call quick. this league tends to undervalue pitching, which makes Haniger more appealing.

I know what you mean about Kershaw; but, he is still considered a top 20-25 SP. But my rankings actually have Paxton higher (top 15-20), and he does not have the question marks Kershaw has. I don't like my Keepers to have durability issues from the start. I would probably go Paxton as you should be able to get Haniger back if you want him. Good luck! Take a look at mine if you can . . .

Paxton is hardly the picture of durability either. Ohtani is going to miss time and is coming off of an injury. I am not so inclined to replace Kershaw with the likes of those guys who are round 5-6+ (Haniger) types at best imo. It is one thing in a redraft to move Kershaw down past those guys, but in a keeper I think you have to weigh the long term risk vs. reward.
