Pick Final Two Keepers

Postby tnbrave » Sat Mar 02, 2019 5:38 pm

Thanks everyone. I'm actually thinking about just keeping 2 SPs (we start 4) instead of 3--so that would mean Carrasco would not be kept. This is a 10-team h2h weekly points league: start 1 Catcher, 4 SPs, usual IF, 3 OF, no CI/MI positions. Penalizes for hitter strikeouts (-1). Limited transactions allowed. Can keep any of the following:

That would leave me with the following as Keepers:
Trout
Scherzer
T. Turner
Nola
Rendon
Hoskins

The final two would be two of the following:
Realmuto (given that C has gotten weaker overall with Perez's injury and the Harper signing)
Carpenter
Bellinger

Or if I decided to go SP, I would choose one from the following (and one from the above hitters):
Carrasco
Greinke
Strasburg

So who should final 2 Keepers be given that I plan to keep the 6 above? Thanks. WHIR

Ditto, Realmuto and Bellinger. It's not even that close. If there are that few SPs used you should be able to draft replacements easily.

I guess it comes down to the following 4 players for 2 slots:

Bellinger
Carrasco
Carpenter
Realmuto

Which two? Not sure I need 3 SPs out of my first 8 players though with Scherzer and Nola already on my staff. C is so shallow and Realmuto could really standout. Bellinger is young and expect a bounce back. Carpenter is versatile but is old.

You said it best, with Scherzer and Nola already on your staff, and it being a 10 teamer, (should be plenty arms to fill out that staff) I agree, go with the best Catcher in baseball in Realmuto and Bellinger (who will have some flexibility 1B and OF)
