Keeping the right ten players?

Postby mngopher » Sun Feb 25, 2018 7:56 pm

My keeper deadline is coming up soon. I am in a 12 player 5x5 Roto auction keeper league with a $260 budget. I am able to keep 10 players each year for my major league roster.

These are my likely players I am very likely keeping:
1. Clint Frazier OF $1
2. Mookie Betts OF $16
3. Anthony Rizzo 1B $28
4. David Price SP $11
5. Aaron Nola SP $11
6. James Tailion SP $6

These players I am possibly keeping:
7. Anthony Rendon 3B $21
8. Yoenis Cespedes OF $10
9. Brian Dozier 2B $24
10. Christian Yelich OF $21

These are other players I could keep with the price on them.
Elvis Andrus OF $10
Danny Duffy, KC SP, RP $13

Of the ten, I put in my likely keeping wondering if I am keeping the right ten. Also if I kept that proposed ten I would be down to $111 left to use at the auction. Wondering if that is the best strategy to go into the auction with.

Not a Taillon fan. Might go Duffy over him.

Do you you have to keep 10 or can you get money back? If you don't have to then I wouldn't here. The guys marked above I think are discounted, maybe Price and Cespedes as well, keep an eye on their market value. Duffy and Tallion are too expensive and Frazier you can get back for a $1 if you wanted to.

This will give you $129 and you solidified your INF and 2xOF so go spend on some pitching - Think you'll do well

Cespedes at $10 is not bad value. Frazier at $1 is literally a free-be, so why not? Just cut him if need be later on. Dozier and Yelich at OK prices so you may as well keep them and avoid whatever auction inflation is going to be in play. You could certainly pass on Cespedes and save $10 if you do not like him as a player this year. Not going to get him any significantly cheaper I should think though.

I like those 10 but I'm not sold on $24 for Dozier. I'm thinking he goes for less in the auction.

I don't have to keep 10. Can keep from 0 to 10 if I wanted.

Thanks for the help so far.
