if your bench isn't deep, id drop this guy - maybe im jumping the gun but he was unproven before this year, and his first 2 were bad this year...

Yeah, afterall, no pitcher has ever succeeded in the majors after having 2 bad starts in a row!

Drop him like yesterday's newspaper.

oh cmon now - i dont understand everybody infatuation with this guy...pick up someone like bonderman instead...affledt has been TERRIBLE...i understand that it's just a few games, but im just saying personally i wouldnt want to start him...

I feel the same way but I'll kick myself if I drop him and then he does get his act together. Even great pitchers are prone to bad starts and cold spells.

I haven't watched any of his games this year, but I have seen highlights of his nasty curve ball. I'm willing to give the people who have watched him and have been pumping him up here the benefit of the doubt that he really does have big upside . . .plus I like having lefties on my pitching squad. Of course, pitching is extremely thin in the league where I have him. In a 12 team standard yahoo! settings league I'd be more inclined drop him.

yeah, that's what im in - 12 team mixed league...but you are totally right, in a really deep league maybe he's worth a bench spot...and i only have the boxscores to go on.....there are people who've seen him who you can probably trust more than me......

If you've got room on your bench, he's a must store.

I'm in a 14 team league, so he's in my RP/SP spot for the next few starts.

He's got the stuff to make it. It takes time with the young ones.

I'm lucky enough to be able to wait out the storm and see his true value this season as in my 5x5 roto I can drop him AND his stats at any point in the season and pickup any available SP AND THEIR STATS

Affeldt pitched VERY well today.

Seems as if the bump of a start got him settled down.

I hope this starts off a trend!
