Petco.. dang... is it a BIG problem?

I got a puljos offer for sexson and giles... if giles is going to end up with numbers like H. Matsui I might as well pull the trigger! What do you all think?

From what I see, there have only been 2 HRs hit in the park in the first 4 games. However, the Dodgers offense has had no trouble scoring in this park, and we all know how often they cross they plate. 8 Rs last night, 4 off Wells tonight, already...as a Giles owner, I see little cause for concern.

I'm sure he'll get runs and rbi's... but homers are my concern. I'm sure if the padres play good small ball they will do well in Petco, but I didn't draft Giles for small ball.

Good point. Even as comfortable as I am with Giles, by the way, that Pujols trade sounds worthwhile to me.

Petco's deep right center field fence is really going to suppress left-handed power. If you have Giles or Klesko and can get good value for them, it might be a wise idea to send them packing.

Phil Nevin, on the other hand, should be fine. Reasonable fences in left.

giles is a pull hitter isnt he? therefore this shouldnt worry him too much as the right field line aint that bad. apparently it will get better as it starts to warm up in san diego too.

I'm still trying to figure out the right field fence at Petco. It takes some funky slants and its hard to tell exactly how it affects hitters.

Regardless, pulling the ball should work better than hitting to the alley, so that's some good news for Giles owners.

I really think that once the warm weather comes the ball will carry much better in Petco.

I sure hope he gets 30+ Hrs. And I hope that stadium loosens up after a month or so because I have Giles and Nevin that I need production from. Plus my arch-rival has Lawrence and Wells on his squad so I'd like to see them get shelled every once in a while....like tonight.
