I drafted Marte this year under the assumption that there was no way Koch could start the year as closer. I was wrong about that, but the point is, I never once considered that Koch could have a competent year. I've actually given up on Marte, temporarily, but that's just because I play in a shallow league.
"Funny. You like samurai swords . . . I like baseball."
Hes not deceptive with his pitches at all, its pretty easy to hit a guy that throws 80% fastballs at mid-90s speed. That may have worked when he threw 100mph but not anymore. I say hes done
Sorry to say I picked him up a few days ago after he had a couple solid outings and knotched his first save. I just dropped him and picked up Speier. I was kind of torn between him and Chacon who was also available but I'll see how Speier does in the next week or so. If he doesn't appear to nail down the job, he'll be dropped next.
I haven't completely lost faith, but Koch is down to his last strike. If he fails again, that's it for him. I've never really had faith in him, though, because although he is on my roster, I haven't started him yet.
