New to Yahoo. When a player comes off the DL how quickly do you need to drop a player if your over the roster size. Or what happens if you don't drop a player?
Also, when do player positions get updated? Has any happened yet? I assume it after a certain number of games but do not see it in the rules.

You don't really ever have to drop a player. You can keep him on the DL as a "wait and see" guy sits in your lineup indefinitely.
As far as the position updates go, the player needs to play 15 games at the position before the player becomes eligible to use in that spot.

Player position updates happen after 15 games played at a previously unqualified position.
If my memory serves properly, if you have a player on the DL who is no longer on MLB's list, you cannot make other transactions until you deal with the "extra" player. I don't know what would happen if your team already has an open roster spot.

You do not have to drop a player until you take the injured player off the DL slot. Basically...you can have that player on DL the rest of the season. However...you will not be allowed to take him off DL until you drop a player.
Player positions will be updated when that player has played 15 games at the new position.

esm is correct. I forgot the part about making other roster moves when a guy comes off the DL. You are restricted unti that player is moved into your lineup.

When you activate somone that was on the DL you have to immidiatly drop somone if you had a full roster. (I think)
And a player gets eligibility at a new position after he has played 15 games at that position

So if I understand it right if a player comes off the DL you don't need to move him to an active position until you need to use the DL position for another player.
