So, I am a Marte owner. Yes, this is good news, but I have also been watching Looper, who is a free agent in my league and has started very well. Do I wait and see if Marte takes the job and gets a fat load of saves, or do I pick up the Mets' closer? I play 5x5 H2H and Marte's really worth little to me unless/until he gets a bunch of saves.

You may have to wait for Marte to take the job. I have a feeling that if Koch does lose the job it will be a threesome with Koch-Marte-Takatsu. You may want to grab Looper. You can always pick Marte back up if he does close. His 27.00era will keep him on waiver.

tie ball game 9-9
bases loaded, no outs....looks like you Koch might get bailed out of the loss (but won't vulture the win because they took him out before the inning was over)

for us fellow Marte owners watching the game, didn't you just enjoy the resounding chorus of "BILLY KOCH SUCKS!" coming from fans in his home park? Go Marte! i'm hoping he gets me 25-30 saves after Koch is run out of town.

I doubt that, 15-20 would be more than a blessing. I'll think they'll stick with Koch for a couple more attempts and then go CBC before Marte gets the job (which he might not even do perfectly at, he is human, look at his first game).
