How long do you leave trades open?

With strangers I leave it open for 3 or 4 days. If they haven't contacted me, I put a note on the message board asking them if they have seen the offer. If still no response in the next 2 or 3 days, then I take the offer down and move on.

With people I know, just a couple of days.

Last season I offered a trade and they guy I wanted got injured. I saw the game on TV but didn't have a computer around to cancel the trade. Guess what I found in my mailbox the next day. The jerk took the trade after he knew his man was injured! I guess I was the dope in the situation, but I don't leave a trade up for more than two days now.

I never let a trade offer stay out there overnight. Too many crazy things (injuries) can happen. I tell them that I will pull the trade at end of day and post it again the next day if I still want to do it. Kind of gives them a little incentive to do trade before I change my mind as well. Of course if you offer a ridiculous offer then you don't care how long it sits.
