talking about K Wells...if he was on a better team that got him some wins he would easily be number three on that list.

Schilling - the best pitcher in baseball on one of the best teams.....
Schmidt - a true strikeout pitcher, he's awesome but will recieve questionable run support, and the bullpen is kinda vanilla....
Wells - an excellent pitcher on a pretty horrendous team; should win 10-12, but could win 17 on a better team.....
Sabathia - looks to finally be coming into his own as a true ace; should recieve decent run support, but questionable defense and bullpen....
Wolf - possibly the best #2 starter on a team with five #2 starters. Proven but still fairly young and getting better.....
Contreras - the toughest to rank. Possibly the best of the bunch in a year or two, but right now untested and unproven.....

I agree, although I think there's a significant gap bewtween Schill and Schmidt.
I'm not a fan of Contreras. Is he 80?
I'm back. Sorta.

I think the Padres are much better than you are giving them credit for - they will make a run for the division this yr.
"horrendous team" - better hope the SD contingency here at the Cafe didnt see that.
