Cubs place Grudzielanek on disabled list

Postby WebHamster » Tue Apr 13, 2004 6:00 pm

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Cubs have placed second baseman Mark Grudzielanek on the 15-day disabled list with a partially torn right Achilles' tendon.

The move is retroactive to Saturday, April 10. He had been bothered by inflammation in the heel and missed the past three games, but is expected to be sidelined for only about two weeks.

Grudzielanek was leading the team in batting with a .467 average, notching seven hits in 15 at-bats through four games.

The Cubs activated infielder Jose Macias off the disabled list. He was placed on the DL in late March after undergoing surgery to repair his left medial meniscus.

Perhaps all those people who I thought were fools for taking Walker were geniuses. But really, Walker isn't that good to get gitty over him for only like 2 weeks of play.

Is it a for sure deal that when Mark gets better, Todd will be out?? He's playing pretty hot, and he hits more home runs, RBIs and scores more runs than Mark almost every year.

as a cubs fan they should keep Walker in when Grud gets back and take the downgrade on D.
