This is my first year playing in a Roto league, I've always just played in a points league with some friends. Can someone please explain how the scoring works. I know you have different categories, but how points get allocated. I'm in a Yahoo league leading with like 187 points and I have no idea how I get points. For instance how does WHIP give me points or AVG.? If anyone could explain this I'd greatly appreciate it.

Ok so you have your basic 12 team 5x5 roto league.

1) For each hitting and pitching category you gain a certain amount of points. THese points are based on how well you are doing relatively to the other teams. For example, say you lead the league with 20 home runs, you would get 12 points because there are twelve teams and you are in first place for that category. The team with the second most homeruns would get 11 points and the third most 10 etc, etc...

2) This scoring is done with all ten categories. The sum of every ones points get added up and that is how you get ranked. Team with the most points is obviously in first and so on.
