Weekly changes and daily changes are definitely something you have to check before joining a league. Also, bench or no bench? As a few have pointed out, it used to be strictly weekly changes with no bench. Now with the internet, daily changes and a bench have gotten very popular.

Well I've been playing fantasy baseball all the way back to when you mailed in your roster each week and the commish mailed you the standings once a week. With that said, I can say that any league that people enjoy is a REAL league.
I've played money leagues through Yahoo without any problem. Why pay the extra for Sportsline, TQ, etc. when you can just add that money to the payback to the winner? Look at it this way, 12 teams, $100 each is $1200. Subtract out the stat service fee and you are left with $1000 or less to pay back the winner. Why not use the free service and pay the full amount back?
Anyway, it's a good lesson for everyone to be aware of. Always read the rules before joining a league.
