Hank Aaron is Overrated!!

Postby justinA » Mon Apr 12, 2004 8:53 pm

In light of Bonds homerun today, it got me thinking about the 2 ahead of him, Ruth and Aaron. I remembered my grandfather telling me that Aaron is soo overrated because he had so many more ABs than Ruth, and he was right. Aaron had 12364 AB's to Ruth's 8399!!!! I sure as hell hope he could hit 39 more in 3965 AB's!!!!! Aaron is not as good a power hitter as Ruth without a doubt and when I hear people on ESPN and such talk about him being better than Ruth, it disgusts me. Aaron hit a HR every 16.3 AB's to Ruth's 11.7! I even think Bonds is a much better player and power hitter than Aaron because he still has 660 after getting walked almost 200 times a year. OK, my rant is done. What do you think?

Bonds = Steriods...nuff said!

Cannot compare Ruth and Aaron since they played in 2 totally different era's.

Personally I think that is crazy to say Aaron is overated. In my book a home run is still a home run. If you can stay healthy, and have the longevity to take more swings, then I would say that person is a superior ball player if he did more as a player, as Aaron obviously did. Furthermore, I believe that baseball was much different when Aaron played, and pitching as well as the social atmosphere that he played in was much different.

So what, Aaron never even topped 50 Homeruns in any given season and you dont know Bonds uses/used steroids so dont be ignorant and jump to conclusions.

And you can't say with any certainty that Ruth would have hit 700 homeruns playing in the timeframe that Aaron did.

Ignorant? LMAO! IMO Bonds used steroids....sorry to piss you off about that!

I actually think he's underrated due to everyone knowing that his total are longevity based.

Thanks for putting the foot of truth down on that steroid matter. Now if only everyone else would just wait and see if he really did take them!!!! For f**k's sake!

Best Hitters:

1. Babe Ruth
2. Ted Williams
3. Ty Cobb

One can only imagine the numbers Ted would have put up if he didn't lose so many years of his prime to the military.

yes that is ignorance.. you have no clue if he really used steroids or not and all your doing is speculating.. sure you can have your opinion, but it is ignorant to accuse somebody of something without seeing cold evidence that he has or has not.
