A By-Commite strategy?

Postby Zito is God » Mon Apr 12, 2004 8:37 pm

Anyone ever try the by-commite strategy where you always have 1 spot open andm you continuesly pick up and drop players with favorable matchups or that are hot? I usually start doing this late season to try to get extra stats but it seems I might have already started it in week 2, I picked up Mesa for the last 3 days of last week and he got me what I needed, a save and a nice ERA and a couple of strikeouts, now I dropped him cause my lineup is full tommorow anyways and picked up (I think its Eaton :-o can't believe i forgot his name) who starts for the padres tommorow vs the Dodgers and plan to drop him immediately after tommorow for a position i can fill the next day? Anyone try this, it won me the championship in my hockey league this year, but i never tried this particular strategy in Fantasy baseball during my 4 year playing experience.

Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

I do this all the time with SPs. I never spend my top draft picks on SPs...maybe one ace. The other 4 spots I have 2 pretty solid guys & always have a 4th & 5th SP that I pick up off waivers if he has a great match up or 2 starts in week.

It helps you gain wins & Ks & allows to concentrate more on O in your draft. I always think a great O wins in fantasy especially in 6x5

My league is 6 X 5 roto with weekly line ups.

Yeah, I dunno how the first 2 things listed will go down but the winner will get bragging rights.

On a side note: Jeff Weaver is my favorite pitcher, ever. (No joke)
