I love how angry some people get about Bonds approaching Aaron's record. I'd be interested to see how much hate mail he recieves each day, much the same Aaron got when he approached Ruth and Maris when he approached Ruth's single season record. People need to realize that Ruth and Aaron are not almightly. One day, if not Bonds, someone will come along and be BETTER than ANYONE who has ever played. For some reason, people hate change. Personally, I think records are meant to be broken and heroes are meant to fall. Ruth was an amazing hitter, and Aaron was an amazing consistent hitter. Bonds probably has the best eye of any power hitter who's ever played.
I just can't wait until he finally breaks the record, retires, and we can wait for the next big thing.

i am going to say this: I do believe at one point Bonds was on steroids during his career. At least 5-7% of Major League Baseball was on it last year. I also believe, steroids or no, he is a great player. However, I dont think he is better than Mays, Ruth, or Aaron. Aaron was so consistent, Mays was a 5tool player, and Ruth was and probably still is the best hitter of all time. Im sorry i didnt get to see this, as i dont have cable (stupid provider wont bring it down street). However, steroids wont diminish Bonds career until it is proven he took them.
The same people that believe Bonds isn't on steroids are the same people that think O.J. is innocent.
Are people forgetting that it was proven that Bonds bought steroids from BALCO? What did he do, buy them and sell them to someone else to make some extra money? Give me a break. Anybody that can say Bonds never took steroids with a straight face won't be seeing my back any time soon.
Ok, so what. He took steroids. So did plenty of other big leaugers. Did all of them?... NO. And THAT's the point. The playing field is not level. Let's say Bond's hits 800 home runs. What if A-Rod or Pujols ends up hitting 775 steroid free. Is that fair?
The reason Bonds gets so much shit for taking steroids is because he broke the single season home run record - probably the most famous record in all of sports. You don't break that record on one hand, get caught up in a illegal steroids ring on the other and then expect to come out with your integrity in tact.
If you get caught cheating at your profession, you're going to suffer the consequences.
