I am playing in a roto league for the first time this season. I have some questions.
1. How many weeks does it take for standings to settle down, if they do at all?
2. Is there a lot of movement in the standings in the beginning, the middle, and the end of the season?
The reason I ask is because my team is in dead last after one week!
The first place team has 81 points and I have 45. Am I panicing too soon? Should I stay the course and wait for big hitters to start hitting? It doesn't help that Prior is on the DL...
In my experience, it generally takes until around June before the standings start to settle in to the point where standings shifts are not that common.
The first month of the season, the standings tend to shuffle on a daily basis, and towards the end of the season, there tends to be very limited movement. However, obviously, if there is one category like saves that is very tightly packed, standings could jump all season long on the basis of a save or two.
Yep, relax and play the waiting game. This early, there are tons of points moving all over the board. It will slow down and the best teams will rise to the top if they are not already there.
Don't misunderstand though, keep your eyes on your guys, the free agent pool, and the waiver wire. Maintain your team and do what's best for it.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

I will keep an eye on EVERYTHING. I think I have a strong team but some of my key guys have gotten off to a slow start. I will wait and see. The main thing about my roto league is that it is an 11 team, 27-man roster/team league. So everyone has a boat load of guys on their bench.
