Kevin Gryboski comes in and pitches the 9th in a save situation.

What does this mean for Smoltz owners?
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. -Crash Davis

I wouldn't be worried...Smoltz had pitched in each of the three previous games/days...he probably didn't want to go 4 in a row.

That wont happen, but Smoltz has struggled in his 3 apperences giving up 3 HR in 3 Innings, i think taht Cox wanted to give him a night off, to regroup for his next save opportunity. If Smotz continues to struggle though or has to stay out for a prolonged period of time, lood for Gryboski for Cunnane to take over the closer responsibilities, if not them perhaps the new acquisitions of Cruz or Reitsma

It doesn't have the least bit to do with performance.

He's not going to pitch 4 nights in a row in any circumstances. That's all it was.
