thanks for the help on mine, but I noticed you left the wrong link and instead it was the link for a Kershaw trade.
I think my first choice would be Mauer. losing catcher eligibility so he drops down a lot as only someone at 1B.
Homer Bailey is good, but I think there are a lot of good pitchers these days. I'd have to leave him out.
the others seem tough for me. I would say for sure guys you have to keep would be.. Gomez, Beltre, Posey. Fernandez is injured, but there's such a high ceiling for him. Lee is almost 36, but still capable of being really good like he was last season.
both Davis and Trumbo haven't been that good this season, with Trumob also being injured. some might say 1 or both of these guys, but I think they both still have high HR potential and it would be a shame to not keep them and have them bounce back.
Andrus numbers are down this season. he had 42 SB last season, but 21 the year before and only 21 so far this season. if he isn't stealing a big number I don't think he is as valuable since he doesn't offer much in power.
Kemp has had a hard time staying healthy, so maybe he would have to be the 4th?
I think I would have to leave off.. Mauer, Bailey, Andrus, Kemp.
16 team, 9x9 roto, 25 man MLB roster, 15 man minor league roster. We keep 7 MLB players, all minor league players, and 3 guys who graduate from the minors to the majors.
My three minor league graduates are easy: Billy Hamilton, Masahiro Tanaka, and Kevin Gausman
Now I need to exclude four of the following:
1. Buster Posey 2. Joe Mauer 3. Chris Davis 4. Elvis Andrus 5. Adrian Beltre 6. Carlos Gomez 7. Matt Kemp 8. Mark Trumbo 9. Jose Fernandez 10. Homer Bailey 11. Cliff Lee
So, which four shouldn't I keep? Thanks in advance. Leave a link if you'd like me to return the favor.
Bailey and Mauer are easy cuts imo. The former is nothing special and the latter is offering nothing and is the Pedroia of Cs...way overrated. The other two can be debated but if forced to choose now I would part with Trumbo and Cliff Lee though you could make cases for Andrus or Chris Davis as well. In the case of Andrus, he does at least offer some value with the Sbs and OK other numbers at SS. In the case of Davis, there is hope he can bounce back next season. Lee at his age and with the arm problems I think simply is not worth taking the gamble on at this point. Maybe if the reports before ST 2015 are better you could change your mind, but as of now, I would simply let him walk.
I woudl throw Lee and Bailey back also and keep the quality at the thin positions. You can always find pitcher and get younger in the draft. Davis vs. Trumbo is a bit tough. Trumbo has been a little more consistent and would go with him.
