I'm going all in to win it this year, but I am also looking into next year. Very deep 20 player H2H league.
First, my keeper for next year (keep 9): 6 Batters: Pujols, Altuve, Arenado, Longo, C Gomez, Puig 2 Pitchers: Grienke, Darvish
Last spot: Harvey (DL) [ note: also have Cobb]
I just got offered a 2015 4th rounder, Archer, T Watson (RP) and B Gardner for my Harvey and 18th rounder. This would instantly give me 3 players helping me for this year. My OF is that stacked when Cuddyer comes back, that I probably have to bench L Cain in order to start Gardner. However, for next year and beyond I would give up Harvey and would probably keep either Cobb or Archer.
Would you do this? What are your projections for either Harvey, Cobb or Archer? Thanks and WHIR
I'm only making this deal if I strongly believe that Archer, Gardner & Watson will come close to guaranteeing me the championship.
Do you think that's the case? If yes, do the trade. If not, I hold onto Harvey. I think the kid is something special and while I know he is hurt, there was a point last season that he was arguably the 2nd best pitcher in the game behind Kershaw. I understand there is a risk, but if he comes back as the dominating pitcher that he is, at a point where the Mets could feasibly be competitive as a team, you will be better off with him than that package of players.
Hm..Harvey is young..might worry he might follow Stras's footsteps and lose a little on his fastball (just become more of a pitcher than a flame thrower). I think I'd not buy high on Gardner and keep Harvey for next year. Your team for a 20 teamer has enough to go for the win.
