FRod & A Bradley For Taveras? [Always WHIR]

Postby TruYankeeFan » Tue Jul 08, 2014 8:25 am

Deep keeper (I kept 12 this year from last) H2H with category scoring. 12 categories...R, HR, RBI, TB, OBP, NetSB / IP, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, QS.

The owner I was talking with several weeks ago for a Taveras trade just came back to me with a new offer. It was an offer I just cannot see taking because he was trying to get me to take on several extra guys...so I would have to drop players immediately after the trade.

He just offered his Bogaerts, Desmond, Taveras, Cabrerra for my FRod, Y Ventura and Bradley (MiLB). I know it is not a bad offer....but I would have had to drop 2 players as soon as the trade was completed.

Do I take this offer and drop A Craig and Segura? or do I Counter with FRod and Bradley for just Taveras?

My team:
C - S Perez
1B - Paul Godlschmidt
2B - Anthony Rendon
3B - Lonnie Chisenhall
SS - Troy Tulowitzki
OF - Billy Hamilton
OF - Gregory Polanco
OF - Allen Craig
Util - Josh Donaldson
BN - Bryce Harper, Charlie Blackmon, Jean Segura,
DL - Evan Gattis, Cargo
MILB - Byron Buxton, Miguel Sano

SP - Clayton Kershaw, Julio Teheran, Mat Latos, Yordano Ventura, Drew Pomeranz, Odrisamer Despaigne
RP - Francisco Rodriguez, Aroldis Chapman, Glen Perkins, Jonathan Papelbon, Joakim Soria, Dellin Betances
DL - Michael Pineda, Michael Wacha
MILB - Archie Bradley

His Roster:
C - Buster Posey
1B - Jose Abreu
2B - Robbie Cano
3B - Nolan Arenado
SS - Ian Desmond
OF - Nelson Cruz
OF - George Springer
OF - Mike Trout
Util - Hunter Pence
BN - HanRam, Bogaerts, Taveras, Melky
MiLB - Gary Sanchez, Francisco Lindor

SP - Samardzija, Darvish, Sale, Hammel, Lohse, G Cole, Wheeler, Zimmerman, Lynn
RP - Rosenthal, Reed, Balfour

Any comments, alternate trade suggests, etc will be greatly appreciated.

leave a link and I will get you back tonight.

I would counter with Krod and Bradley for Bogs (unless you are aiming for OF). Desmond is pretty useless to you so try to make deal smaller and take him out.

Why Bogaerts? I don't need a SS (Tulo/Segura) or 3B (Donaldson/Chisenhall) for the ROS... and Tulo/Donaldson will most likely be the two I keep at this positions...so Bogaerts would not really make much of a difference for me.

I am in the playoffs right now...so I am primarily looking to make moves that help now...or bring in super high ceiling guys for the future.

How about Chisenhall/Arenado (*get a safer p/u for 3b insurance?)
Bro you have enough excess pieces I would go all in on Trout.
Try Donaldson, Tulo and Cargo his Trout Desmond and Arenado.
This way you'd get the best trio of players, rid yourself of more name than bang and injury prone Cargo, Donaldson's streakiness and the fact that he's getting older. You'd get younger and better.
