what time does yahoo's day start

Postby Lithman » Fri Apr 09, 2004 12:02 am

anyone know at what time (eastern) yahoo's new day starts. it used to be 3 am, i think. someone in my league has to wake up at like 5 am so he's always the first person to take up all the crappy free agent pitchers to fill spots. i'm just wondering if i can stay up late and grab them before i go to bed.

Last season, I stayed up till 2 AM central to do it...they could have changed it this year, I haven't had to do that yet.

Unfortunately I have a new job this year, 9 to 5. So I haven't found out yet. A more pressing question for me, in our Cafe 12-team NL-only league with 5 OF slots... is when the hell are Termel Sledge and Peter Bergeron going to be added to waivers???

"Who's Peter Bergeron?" 8-o

He was only leading the league in SB's (with about 12) when he was sent down to the minors 2 years ago. Of course, he was sent down because he was batting about .128, but I'm sure his fantasy managers didn't care, since he was outstealing Womack and Pierre and Cedeno. And then, of course, he didn't play at all in the bigs last year. But if he gets a full-time gig with the 'Spos this year, and can actually get that average up near the Mendoza line, he'll have good value in an NL-only league, or maybe in a 20-team mixed league with 5 OF slots where you're currently leading in steals only because you have Gibbons, Helton, and Konerko. :-D

I haven't seen the rosters roll in baseball yet, but in basketball and football, Yahoo rolled at midnight here (PDT), so 3 AM on East Coast.

That's also the time they tag and untag IL's in basketball, but DL tagging seems much more random in baseball.
Blessed are the cheesemakers.

Yeah, for real. I've got a claim on Womack ("April 9") . . . when will I know? If I lose out on him, which I pretty much expect to, I need to grab somebody (probably Ron Belliard).

i would say it is around 4 and 5 am lately (eastern time) but it isn't at a certain set time..sometimes it's later, sometimes earlier. hope this helps somewhat.
