Should I nix Laynce Nix?

Postby Arrowhead Nation » Thu Apr 08, 2004 11:50 pm

He wasnt promised an everyday job and it looks like he will only play a certain % of games. This is an 18 team league I am in so options are limited...but would I be better served grabbing his mate Ramon Nivar, or someone like Adam Everett to back up @ SS...

I ask, because Nix has 30 HR potential, and I dont want to make a bold move this early, yet I would like to solidify my bench?

In that deep of a league, I'd hold him for awhile longer. He can hit, and Brian Jordan's injuries should keep the competition for his lineup spot down. Of course, first sign that he's losing his job, grab somebody else.

I'm in the same position (20 team league) and am holding and hoping.

he was never actually promised an everyday job. he is the starter, but he won't against left handed pitching. just so happens the a's had mulder and zito back to back. don't worry he will play the majority of games, just bench him when he plays left handers.
