Rate my pitching staff

Postby Cali Redneck » Sun Jun 08, 2014 12:57 am

My team seems unable to climb from the bottom of the league in ERA and WHIP despite having a staff that doesn't appear to have many significant weaknesses. Any changes needed, or am I just having an unlucky streak and my stats will improve over time?

SP: Clayton Kershaw
SP: Jon Lester
SP: Wily Peralta
RP: Joe Nathan
RP: Addison Reed
RP: Huston Street
P: Colin McHugh
P: Bartolo Colon
Bench: Josh Beckett, Gio Gonzales(DL), Joba Chaimberlain,
DL: Michael Pineda, Taijuan Walker

You've been unlucky so far, unfortunately it's probably too late for it to improve much just roll with it and try and find some extra points elsewhere.

Since I'm really deep offensively (I'm at or near the top of the league in most offensive categories), I've been toying with the idea of trying to deal one of my OF's to get one more elite SP in hopes that'll give me the boost I need. Here's my current OF depth:

Matt Holiday
George Springer
Brett Gardner
Torii Hunter
Oswaldo Arcia
Gregory Polanco
Brandon Moss (1B,OF)

Maybe I could sell high on Springer. Thoughts on what I could possibly get or if its even worth considering? Of course I'd only feel comfortable making a move like this if Polanco lives up to the hype when he's called up.

I'd for sure offer up Springer for a few of the best arms out there but I wouldn't trade him for any thing less than the best..

Yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking. After checking out some OF needy teams in my league, the best match seems to be a swap for Julio Teheran. The same team also has Felix but that might be asking a little too much. I doubt he'd be willing to make that move.

Like I said though, I think its best to wait a week or two and see what Polanco does. It's a keeper league, but unless I wanna let go of Donaldson or Kershaw I won't be able to keep both Springer and Polanco. So I figure I might as well get some value from a guy I won't have next year anyway.
