Who is starting Santana this weekend?

Postby kcs261 » Thu Apr 08, 2004 9:04 pm

With this arm injury, anybody going to place it safe and leave the guy on the bench against Detroit? I don't want to do it. On the other hand, if there is risk he won't start, or will be on a pitch count, I'd prefer to sit him -- as I need a W badly. Unfortunately, I have to set my lineup on Friday morning and can't wait until Sunday to decide. Do I take a risk with him? Or do I throw Al Leiter against MTL instead (not that his start is all that safe either -- with his head injury)?

I'd start Santana.
There's gotta be a scientific law out there somewhere that cools off the tigers this weekend just to balance out their hot start.

i have no choice but to start him. actually, scientific law would suggest that he does very well to balance out the stinker of a week i'm undergoing right now. come ON, now.

haha i'm hearing u benj... law of avg's says between mussina, morris, valverde, marte, riske and santana... my ERA should be AT LEAST less than 3.5... but even if santana pitches a perfect game, my pitching stats still won't look too pretty :-/

I am in a daily change league, so I don't have to make the call now.
If I were you, I would start him, if there is a probelm with his arm,
he won't start. Assuming your league has an IP limit, in the long run
it won't hurt you.
