Epileptic Seizures and drafting do not mix???Help - WHIR

Postby jonboycubs » Sun Mar 23, 2014 10:45 am

10 TEAM, H2H CATS, 30 MAN ROSTER, UP TO 5 KEEPERS
Hitters - RUNS,HR,RBI,SB,CS,AVG,OBP,
Pitchers - K,W,SV,BS,HD,ERA,WHIP

So I had an epileptic seizure last night and still tried drafting and this is what happened. I ended up with a ton of relievers, no 3b, and in need of SP. Not even sure where to start to help my team. What are your thoughts. Feel free to tell me it is horrible, lol. None the less we will soldier on and trade ourself into contention. Thanks for any advice. Will leave a link to FA if you care to look. ;-D

Thanks :-)

Put in a 5 dollar bid on Ventura - Will be dropping Ruf
Put in a 4 dollar bid on Kluber - Will be dropping Pestano
Put in a 3 dollar bid on Asche - Will be dropping Keppinger

There is a team I have emailed who said they are looking for closers as they have none. So I will be trying to get a SP from him...However I will probably need to post this in another thread! ;-D

HIS STARTERS ARE
Kershaw
Ryu
Sabathia
Lester
Kuroda
Nova
Peavey
Hudson

I don't think you should trade a closer you have 3 and will need 'em in a 10 team league, I also would be surprised if your bids on Ventura/Kluber are high enough if I was bidding against guys around here I don't think I'd make a bid for less that $25 on Ventura and $20 on Kluber.

You are right about the closers as I thought about it I may have a lot but most of them are hold guys and I do not think he is just looking for holds. As far as the bids, I can for sure bid more, but what worries me about bidding as much as you suggested is that my FA budget for the whole year is 75 bucks. I can tend to be a little to conservative when it comes to bidding but 20 and 25 would take that 75 way down. Thanks for your advice

I understand your need to save FAAB but look at it this way if you save it and need to use that $25 for 1/2 of a season for another like Ventura wouldn't you have been better off using it for a full season on Ventura ?

I see your point and am thinking of taking them up to around 15 or so, I do not think the other teams in the league will bid higher, but now you got me nervous, lol, oh and sorry about the PM I fixed my issue with boards, thanks again

Thanks for your help! Sorry to hear about all that, I know it's not the same but once I had to draft right after I got my wisdom teeth out, and with the vicodin-aided results, I know how things can get bad haha

Overall I wouldn't say it's a disaster, solid team.

I think you should aggresively go after Ventura. You just aren't going to find that kind of upside out there during the season, so that would be good at using some of the budget. I like Kluber a bit, but idk if I'd target him really hard. I know you are good on the infield, but I love Brad Miller, tho he seems to really stand out on free agency so he might be hard to get. I'd put a bit in and see, if anything he'd provide great value in your utility spot

What I am working with so far thanks to all your great advice ;-D

75 dollar budget and this would leave me with 29 dollars for the rest of season, unless I can make a trade and include some money

Ventura 18 dollar bid dropping Ruf
Asche 14 dollar bid dropping Keppinger
Kluber 8 dollar bid dropping Pestano
Brad Miller 6 dollar bid dropping Thornton

Any more advice would be greatly appreciated! ;-D

I think you're pretty good at OF, but I'm all in on Kole Calhoun. He's slated to hit leadoff, and with Trout right behind him, he's going to score a lot of runs.
