Keeper advice - Hitters or pitchers

Postby kjames88 » Tue Mar 18, 2014 12:29 pm

I keep going back and forth on my keepers, need to keep 7.

Stanton RF 2nd Round
David Price SP 3rd
Elvis Andrus SS 4th
Adam Jones CF 7th
Matt Cain SP 8th
Mark Trumbo 1B LF RF 16th
Alex Cobb 17th
Jurickson Profar 20th
Domonic Brown, Anthony Rizzo, and Hyun-Jin Ryu all eligible for last/late picks.

12 team league, 22 round draft. I won the league last year, so I have the last pick. Been contemplating keeping just offensive players, or letting Profar and Andrus go to try to redraft them.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do they stay in that round for as long as the league runs. Or do they have some movement each year?

We were giving everyone a couple of years to get use to keeper leagues, and I think next year we are starting where they move up draft position. It will be set up where if the payer was drafted picks 16-20 they move up to picks 11-15, and then 6-10 the next year (I.e. Cobb as a 17th this year moves up to 12th next year).

So big jumps. More or less a very short keeper period of 1-3 yrs at best for anyone. Kind of takes the joy of getting those late round gems out it. I would go with Price, Jones, Trumbo, Profar, Brown, Rizzo and Ryu. I don't really see Stanton being worth the 13th pick.

I think I would go: Price, Jones, Trumbo, Brown, Profar, Rizzo and Ryu as well. I really wouldn't mind keeping Cobb for a 17th rounder either, but you better go with the bat over the pitcher and take Brown. Help with mine? viewtopic.php?t=468217
